FAQ

What are the advantages of purchasing your domain via TDNam?

TDNam is the domain sales platform owned and operated by GoDaddy. They offer a lower sales commission than many other domain sales platforms.  We pass the savings to you.  TDNam delays payment to the seller for 30 days which provides the Buyer an opportunity to work with both the seller and TDNam customer support if the domain is not received.

I prefer to keep all my domains at GoDaddy. I notice that some of your domains are with other registrars. How do I keep all my names with GoDaddy?

Approximately 65% of our domains are registered at GoDaddy.  GoDaddy offers competive registration rates, excellent customer service and if you want to sell your domain – your buyer will almost always already have a GoDaddy account. If you purchase a domain that is not registered at GoDaddy you have two options – accept a free push at the currrent registrar or initiate a transfer of the domain to GoDaddy.

The free push options has the advantage – well that its free, simple and its fast. The transfer option moves the domain to GoDaddy but you are required to renew the domain at the time of transfer. The domain transfer option also takes at a minimum 5 days to complete and can be delayed even further if one of the parties to the transfer makes an error in submitting the transfer information.

When we buy a domain we accept the free push if the domain is with a reputable registrar and has a reasonable time until expiry. And many times we will do the transfer at renewal time. If the domain is with a questionable registrar or is about to be renewed anyway we will do the transfer.

One thing to keep in mind is that a domain must remain in an account for 60 days until it can be transferred to a new registrar. So if you are intending to transfer and the domain is close to expiry you may want to do an immediate transfer so you aren’t forced to renew at the existing registrar.

When I attempt to purchase one of your domains via TDNam I see in the Terms and Conditions that I am required to pay for an additonal years renewal of the domain. Why is that?

This is a standard disclaimer and does not apply to domains listed on NameSlam.com. The only time that you pay a renewal fee is where you purchase a name which has expired.  The listed price is all you pay.

How long will it take to receive my domain name?

Normally all pushes of domain at the same registrar are completed within a day and sometimes much quicker.  If you are doing a transfer to a new registrar generally the transfer takes approximately a week as the losing registrar generally waits five days to approve the transfer.

For GoDaddy pushes you request my name, address, phone number and e-mail address.  Why is that?

For pushes we require your name, complete address, phone number and e-mail address.  This information is required to push the domain name to your account.  We respect your privacy and will only use this information for the purposes of completing the push to your account.
